Salary $19.47 an hour
The employee in this class is responsible for the production of informational programming on the 24-hour government access channel and graphic media production. Work also includes assisting County departments/offices with their audio/visual needs, graphic design projects for print media, and assisting the Director, Public Affairs and Innovative Programs, with a variety of other technical services projects. Work is assigned by the department director and is reviewed for accuracy, quality, and compliance with instructions.

Tapes and edits programming and special events; provides technical assistance in the production of multi-media presentations, suggests and creates graphics for such presentations; instructs others in the operation of audio and visual taping and operating equipment
Maintains a library of video stock and pictures archive.
Configures studio layout and lighting set-up for the production of programs.
Airs still live and film productions of county government events.
Assists in the planning of daily programming, including scheduling guests for shows.
Assists in the implementation of community outreach programs and special events.
Maintains the announcements on the government access cable channel.
Maintains schedule for government access cable channel programming deletions.
Operates and maintains hardware and software associated with the production of programming.
Encodes and develops videos to be uploaded on the County website.
Operates personal computer desktop publishing software programs to design and create electronic artwork for printing.
Provides ongoing technical support for all County sound systems.
Employees in this classification may be expected to perform any related duties as required by proper authority.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of production and software applications associated with on-air programming.
Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of video cameras, video recorders, audio recorders, and other audio-visual equipment.
Knowledge of graphic design software products.
Skill in operating modern office equipment.
Skill in the operation of audio-visual equipment, including video cameras, lighting, audio equipment, background imaging, and computers.
Skill in techniques of taping subject matter.
Ability to use independent judgment and make decisions relative to the operation of equipment.
Ability to use editing software such as Liquid Silver, Adobe PhotoShop, and Inscriber CG.
Ability to diagnose and repair technical production equipment.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
Ability to evaluate audio-visual and software equipment needs and to make recommendations for the purchase of such equipment.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, carry, balance, bend, crawl, kneel, crouch, or stoop.
Ability to occasionally lift light and heavy objects, climb ladders, and be able to distinguish between shades of color.
Ability to lift more than 40 pounds.
Ability to see and perceive depth and color.
The work is typically performed in a studio environment.
1) High school diploma or equivalent.
2) Three (3) years of experience in audio/visual production or a closely related field.
3) OR have a combination of education, training, and work experience that is equivalent to #1 and #2 above that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
1) Associate’s degree in communications, broadcast journalism, or a related field.
