The Opportunity

Digital Realty is looking for a talented graphic designer + video editor to join our growing Brand and Creative Services team to help bring the Digital Realty brand story to life.

You will join a global marketing team that includes resources in Europe and Asia Pacific as well as a dynamic North American & Corporate marketing department with members in New York and San Francisco. Reporting to our Director of Brand and Creative Services you will work closely with our creative design, content and digital marketing teams to translate marketing campaigns and brand strategies into a great visual/customer experience across all media and devices, from mobile to desktop.

The Role

Graphic Design Role & Responsibilities

Delivers on-brand innovative creative concepts across multiple digital channels e.g. infographics, social graphics, email banners, animated display ad campaigns and a variety of internal creative projects.
Heavy production work to include updating existing collateral, building files for digital output and supporting the creative team to ensure files are packaged and delivered on-time and to specifications.
Designs templates that are aligned to the corporate brand for marketing assets and collateral such as landing page banners, emails, product and marketing materials, infographics, social graphics etc…
Works with the creative team to help build and improve current brand visual systems, guidelines and plays an integral part in on-going asset management, maintenance and updating the company’s on-line Brand Playbook
Regular communication with the creative team to ensure consistency with established brand guidelines and ensuring a solid preflight process to check all artwork for accuracy before publishing
Works closely with our creative team on all incoming creative requests to scope work and regularly coordinates with outside agencies, art services, printers, freelancers etc…
Contributes to ongoing department process enhancements to increase efficiency and quality.
Provides support to internal stakeholders including, HR, Global Operations, Global Sales and Sales Enablement in developing the content needed to build the company culture and tell the Digital Realty story.
Video Editor Role & Responsibilities

Provides post-production video editing support for the North American marketing team as well as for several internal stakeholders projects as needed
Creates simple animation/motion graphics for use on various internal and external projects, platforms and playback sources.
Builds short teaser videos to drive engagement and promote via social and paid channels.
Brings innovative create ideas to the table and owns the video storyboard development and process
Collaborates closely with the creative and content teams to build an engaging visual story through video e.g. campaign, brand, explainer, case study, operations, educational and corporate culture videos etc….
Works with the creative/content teams to develop the corporate video strategy
Video on-set, production expertise not required but must be able to manage a team of outsourced videographers to ensure all video shoots run smoothly and within budget i.e. oversees on-set camera, lighting, audio, interviewing, videographer relationships to ensure successful execution of creative vision
Maintains and manages video footage/asset library and works with vendors, videographers and internal stakeholders to deliver video files transfers as needed.
Assists in upkeep of department video equipment and stays current with production and post-production editing techniques and trends.
The Requirements

To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have a combination of 5-8 years of professional work experience as a full-time graphic designer + video editor and the following in your background:

Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud to include advanced skills in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premier, After Effect and Acrobat in both a PC and Mac environment
Intermediate experience editing video in post-production (3-5 years) with a good understanding of audio, lighting, color correction etc…
Strong knowledge and understanding of graphic design principles, lay-out, color theory, grid system, typography etc…as demonstrated in a strong portfolio of work.
Brings creative and innovative ideas to the table (for print, digital and video) and experience with creative brainstorming and creative concepting
Experience creating simple animated graphics for display ads and other digital media
Must be prepared for heavy production work as needed
Must have a fundamental understanding of digital marketing and be knowledgeable about current industry trends and topics.
Basic understanding of HTML, web/landing page & email campaign design and designing across different devices: desktop, tablet, mobile and responsive design techniques.
Understanding of social media design requirements, good understanding of best practices and a proven track record designing assets across platforms
Microsoft Office Suite to include Power Point, Word and Excel
Experience with motion/interactive experience a huge plus.
Experience building visual systems, brand guidelines and templates with an ability to design creative concepts to be aligned with corporate brand is a plus
Basic UX/UI design experience a plus

Motivation to grow and develop professionally and stay current with latest tools, tech, design & graphic trends.
