Job Summary :

Records, edits and contributes to development of content for podcasts. Possesses recording expertise in both studio and field environments.

Collaborates with hosts and other vertical teams to achieve the highest standard of assets and deliverables for the company.

iHeartPodcast Network is seeking a creative and professional audio producer / engineer / editor to join its quickly growing slate of podcasts in the food, travel and lifestyle realm.

The right candidate should be experienced in recording in both studio and field environments, have a passion for storytelling and pristine audio production, and the desire to shape and guide shows from the ground up.

This is a high-energy, collaborative and deadline driven environment with creative podcast professionals. You’ll work with an Executive Producer to plan and strategize content and editorial approach.

Projects could include highly produced, narrative-style shows or straightforward, studio conversation shows. You will be taking ownership of a handful of podcasts, producing several episodes per week, all while balancing production cycles between ongoing weekly shows and seasonal or limited-run series. Responsibilities could include (but aren’t limited to) editorial ideation with hosts, booking guests, recording sessions, editing and mixing audio, project-managing and troubleshooting, as well as light scripting and research as necessary. Basically, we’ll be doing everything that needs to be done to make industry-best podcasts.

You Should Have :

Minimum 2 years professional studio recording and post-production experience

Proficiency with studio and field recording equipment and hardware

Proficiency in Adobe Audition including relevant plug-ins, as well as Apple OS and related software

Exceptional organizational skills, ability to prioritize work, and a track record of turning around audio on a tight deadline

Ability to maintain high quality standards

Knowledge of acoustic treatment and troubleshooting in studio and field environments

Ability to craft both highly produced, character-driven narrative and straightforward in-studio conversations, approaching the work as the listener’s advocate

Comfort providing vocal coaching and content feedback to hosts and talent

Experience working within a CMS to publish audio

Comfort with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility

Flexibility to work in the iHeart office / studios, remotely or occasionally on site, both in concert with others and as a one-person band

Ability to coordinate and communicate with remote social media, marketing and sales teams

An independent and proactive approach to work

Creativity to make the most of limited resources

Eagerness to take direction and grow in the position

Efficiency and grace under tight deadlines

Excellent writing and audio-editing skills, story sense, and production ability

Smarts, empathy, curiosity and good humor matched with top-notch interpersonal and communication skills

Familiarity with food, travel and lifestyle media a big plus, but not required

A background in journalism and public radio preferred, but not required
