Landor San Francisco
Immerse. Evoke. Reframe. Create. At Landor, that’s how we approach design.
We are currently seeking a Senior Motion Designer to join our San Francisco office.
Could this be you?
Landor builds some of the world’s most iconic and agile brands. Our global team of strategic experts and creative explorers solve complex business and brand challenges in unexpected ways. It’s one of the reasons we took home four Cannes Lions this past June.
The Senior Motion Designer conceptualizes and creates stunning design solutions that maintain Landor’s vision and creative beliefs – ‘great ideas expertly and beautifully crafted and delivered with rigor and flair’. You will be responsible for conceiving and delivering absolutely world-class visual ideas, either independently or in conjunction with Directors, fellow Senior Designers and Designers. You will evaluate concepts and options, inspired by design strategy and the creative brief. Storytelling is at the heart of much of Landor’s work – you’ll also create high-impact, compelling visual narratives to express ideas, and design systems that guide and solve for user experiences. You will develop stunning visuals to help solve a range of challenges with brand concepts and exploration, visual identity, digital/physical installations, brand films, mobile and other digital platforms. You will participate in brainstorms and team workshops, develop storyboards and style frames, driving exceptional motion design quality and new creative opportunities.
What we’re looking for…
A highly creative motion design lead with world-class design chops and a passion for exploring new technologies that expand the definition of “motion designer”. You’ll have at least 7 years of experience working with world-class design studios, production shops, agencies, or in-house teams including a minimum of 3 years senior-level experience across a range of clients and projects. You’ll probably have led some high-profile projects yourself and be ready to take the next step in your career. A portfolio of stunning creative work you have personally designed and animated is of course essential – you’ll be able to show and speak to the work, explaining your ability to solve for a broad range of design challenges. You’ll be comfortable adapting your approach and ideas for different cultural and project needs. You are a curious person and a strategic thinker, quickly understanding a client’s business concerns as well as identifying potential creative opportunities. You are as comfortable developing for motion guidelines as you are with ideating to extend brands into new and unexplored territory. You enjoy working in a team environment, and are a friendly, supportive colleague. You’re more than capable of collaborating confidently with other agency and supplier team members and advocating for motion design as a key part of the Landor offering. That you have superpowers with Adobe Creative Suite goes without saying, but you’ll also be adept with creating beautiful work in 3D software like Cinema4D or Blender. Strong creative coding skills for visual art and installations is a major plus, some experience is essential. An industrial design render station is available, so experience with SolidWorks is a solid plus. A BFA education (or similar) in a related field is preferred, but the ability to show outstanding, on point creative work for major clients is of course critical.
