A Shy Production Studios is in search of a social media intern with a strong knowledge of the digital media landscape.
A Shy Production is a boutique production company on a mission making the entertainment industry more inclusive, and more accessible. We love to laugh, We love a good tear-jerker, we love explosions. We love a good story. We produce web series, television series, and short films all funded through individual contributions and distributed independently of the studio system. A Shy Production Studios is gearing up to launch its Kickstarter campaign. We need support in the roles of Social Media, Graphics Design, Email Marketing, and Public Relations to help raise money for the production of a comedic web series following two quirky twenty-somethings besties attempting to survive life at a predominantly white institution under the backdrop of New York City.
The Social Media intern will help to build, curate and manage the social media accounts for the web series to create awareness and drive traffic to our Kickstarter page. The intern will need to be collaborative, a creative thinker, some training in the creative arts like photography, video production, or graphic design while also having a nancy for data and trends. Most importantly, the intern needs to have an interest in film/television and new media and passion to learn and grow with this young vibrant company.
Assist building online audiences on social platforms; Increase awareness and anticipation around upcoming promotion.
Create weekly and monthly editorial calendars to promote the project
Collaborate with the Graphics and Public Relations Interns to create content such as blogs, infographics, videos, and press releases for distribution on social platforms.
Track social media engagement to identify high performing ideas and campaigns for scalability.
In pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Media Studies, or related field of study.
Experience with social media platforms including Facebook, Youtube, Instagram. Twitter, Tick Tok, and Snap.
Energetic and creative with impeccable oral and communication skills.
Hard-working and team-oriented with a positive attitude – NO JERKS ALLOWED
Must have a personal computer and access to the internet ( Libraries & other coworking places are fine).
Open to current students and recent select graduates
Practical experience with a website launch and social media campaigns
Shadowing, mentoring, and training opportunities with experienced, knowledgeable professionals
Learn to work with productivity software used by major companies ( i.e. Slack, Basecamp)
Opportunity to visit the set when production begins
