Role and Responsibilities:
KiwiCo is seeking an experienced contract videographer who is highly skilled in both camera work and editing to take on the responsibility of shooting and editing all of KiwiCo’s tutorial videos for kids and teens. This encompasses step-by-step science and craft videos to be used alongside our monthly subscription lines to help guide users through instructions and additional inspirational content. This role requires someone with strong camera skills, a great eye for staging, and a broad operating range.
Direct, shoot, and edit all footage to support video tutorials, from the hosted introduction to the step-by-step instructions
Plan and test new concepts to capture the needs of individual products and instructions
Maintain our visual standards for video. Experiment with shooting, lighting, editing, and retouching to help us continue to develop and improve our style.
Partner closely with the Editorial and Product Design teams to develop and execute videos that are interesting, helpful, and fun to watch.

Experience. Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of videography experience and strong experience with editing videos in Adobe Premiere. You’re confident both behind the camera and in the editor’s chair.
Superb aesthetic skills. You have a great eye and are able to take any request and find a compelling and attractive way to capture it in video or in a still photo.
Great communication skills. You’re highly collaborative, able to work within cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization, and able to give and receive feedback well.
Strong organizational skills. You’re great at keeping a production running smoothly and you always keep your project files organized, tagged, and available for other team members.
Broad operating range. You thrive in a fast-paced, small company environment, under pressure and working toward aggressive timelines. You can multitask and meet deadlines while still paying attention to details and executing flawlessly. You have the ability to balance and productively resolve pressing demands and timelines in order to deliver against the company vision and goals.

Experience filming, directing, and editing short and long-form tutorial videos
Experience with 4K video production and file organization
Experience operating dual-camera set-ups, specifically top-down rigs
Familiarity working with the Sony A7R 2 or a similar camera
Experience working with a startup
